It’s been a few months, but we’re back after a little Twitter prompt, thank you! 🍾
My observations of the design (and wider, I guess) industry recently has been that we’re still kind of obsessed with automation, but aren’t entirely sure what a world class real use case is.
From speaking to designers and managers, I’ve come to some sort of conclusion. My notes are that I don’t think that our worst fears of the designer’s role are at risk of collapsing, but I do believe that there are strong signals of companies investing less in growing teams.
This means that we may keep our jobs, but we should expect fewer new colleagues in the team. Do more with the same, effectively.
